Mother and Daughters journey...

My daughter Carli was diagnosed with a disease called "Alopecia Areata". Alopecia Areata is an auto-immune disorder that causes hair loss. More than 2% of the population suffers from this disease. Alopecia Areata is not contagious nor life threating. It is life altering. There is little known about the cause of this disease. At the age of ten, my daughter Carli lost 50% of her hair. She chose to wear hats to cover her baldness for 5 years. When she became a teenager Carli had the additonal burden of dealing with all the social issue that any normal teenage girl deals with. This was a very difficult time for Carli. That is when we started looking for Hair Replacement options. We found out that good alternatives were few and far between.

Carli became a "normal" teenager when she received her Hair Replacement. It was truly remarkable to see the change in her personality and her looks. Carli is a beautiful girl anyway, but now she has the confidence to be with her friends in social situation.

Our family became very involved with the Nation Alopecia Areata Foundation. We have hosted two 5k run/walks raising over $60,000.00 for the foundation .

I have been professionally trained in Hair Replacement, and I am proud to offer this service to the public. I have helped many of my clients solve hair loss problems ranging from hair loss from cancer treatment, receding hair lines, hair thinning, and of course Alopecia Areata.

Patti Wood has been "behind the chair" for 30 years. A cosmetologist creating the most up to date styles. Patti specializes in hair color and is one of the best in her field. She has created a relaxed private salon atmosphere in the cottage behind her home.

Patti has over 20 years experience as an Educator and Trainer in the hair industry. Working as a Regional Performing Artist for the Redken Corporation, Patti has been a Guest Speaker at many industry and non-industry events. She also worked with Michael Cole facilitating business classes for salons.

Patti has been a salon owner since 1982, managing staff from 8 up to 15 stylists and support staff.

In 2007, Patti returned to school, and her education is ongoing for hair replacement and hair extensions.

Patti just returned from Miami Fl this Spring from The Hair Replacement Academy. She spent 4 extensive days learning the newest grafting technique's available today in Men's Hair Replacement. Patti Wood combines her extensive experience in hair care with her educational background to provide you quality service and insightful solutions to your hair care needs. She is a committed hair care professional with a gift to share.

Her specialties include hair extensions, hair color, wig fitting, and working with individuals who have experienced hair loss. She believes in being up front and honest by letting the client know what to expect. Patti is a very open person, and has a knack for making people feel at ease, allowing them to open up.

In her spare time, Patti enjoys attending continuing education classes, travel, spending time with her family and Yoga retreats.
